Tape-ins need refitting every 6-8 weeks as your natural hair grows out. At each appointment, your extensionist removes the old adhesive and reapplies fresh tabs. The overall lifespan depends on which range you choose: Classic tape-ins last around 3-6 months, while Remy Royale extensions last 6-12 months with proper care. Using the right products and brushing gently will help you get the most out of them.

We always recommend having your tape-ins fitted and removed by a qualified hair extensionist. Professional fitting ensures the wefts are placed correctly, sit flat against the scalp, and blend naturally with your own hair. It also protects your natural hair from damage. Your extensionist will advise on placement, quantity, and ongoing maintenance to keep everything looking its best.

It depends on the look you're after and which range you choose. Classic packs contain 40 wefts (100g), while Remy Royale packs contain 20 wefts (50g), so Remy Royale buyers typically need more packs to achieve the same coverage.

For volume only, 100g is usually enough (1 Classic pack or 2 Remy Royale packs). For a full head transformation adding 2-3+ inches of length, aim for 200g (2 Classic packs or 3-4 Remy Royale packs).

Tape-ins can handle most day-to-day activities, including exercise, but there are a couple of things to keep in mind. Chlorine and salt water can affect the adhesive and hair quality, so we'd recommend covering your hair or rinsing with fresh water straight after. Working out is absolutely fine - just tie your hair in a loose, low ponytail rather than a tight, high one, as pulling can put strain on the bonds. A quick brush-through afterwards helps prevent any tangles building up.

Keep it simple: wash with a sulphate-free, alcohol-free shampoo and conditioner, and brush gently a few times a day with an extension-friendly brush. Avoid applying conditioner or oils directly onto the adhesive tabs, as this can cause slipping. Between your 6-8 week refit appointments, a little daily care goes a long way toward keeping your tape-ins looking and feeling their best.
